Worries for another friend

Well, Sophie has now gone “missing” for several days. I know where she’s at, but I’m concerned, as she doesn’t usualy stay away without answering mails for a while. She was at her parent’s for a weekend. Looks like the weekend changed into a full week. They had words about her wheelchair use, following the viewing of a documentary about Lily.
Sophie’s parents aren’t very happy with her use of a wheelchair. That is understandable. I wonder if they’ve tried something nasty, like get her into a “treatment” centre against her will, or some such. Of course, that’s probably just my imagination running wild, I’m good at that. But I wouldn’t put it past a pair of concerned, somewhat biggoted, ultra-Christian parents. Seems to me like it could happen. Similar techniques are routinely used against folks who are gay or transgendered. Does it happen in this country, or just in the US? Who knows.
Short story is, I haven’t heard from Sophie in nearly a week now. She hasn’t posted on her group, on her website, responded to email, nothing. Maybe she just doesn’t have computer access at her parent’s? Maybe something more nefarious is happening. Asking by email if she’s ok might bring a positive response, but no response is not necessarily proof she isn’t ok. AAACK!
Worries. Worries.
