This too shall pass?

Today’s been particularly horrid BIID-wise. Damn it hurts. I was talking with someone and said "this too shall pass". But it doesn’t, does it?
I mean, it’s been 35 years already. If it was gonna pass, surely it would have by now? But it doesn’t. It goes in cycles.
For me, the cycles are going from "merely excruciating" to "unbearable". The kind of unbearable that makes you want to slam your head through a brick wall. Only you don’t do it, because you know that you’d only wake up with the Mother of All Hangovers, and you’d still have BIID. Adding insult to injury that would be, aye?
Someone else echoed my sentiments when they said:
"fuck all the doctors who make us go through this"
Well, it’s not passing. And we hunker down, and wait for the worst of it to pass.
