Telling the doc?

For the last little while i’ve been considering telling my GP about my transableism. He doesn’t know me as a wheeler. Why should I? Why shouldn’t I?

3 close calls in the last few months. 3 times when I almost bumped into him on the streets. Sooner or later, he is bound to discover. Seems to me it only makes sense to prevent things and tell him.

I think he wouldn’t go ape over it. He would think it strange. He might do research on it. but I wouldn’t ask for help for acquiring an SCI.

I do believe that in the long run it can only be good.

Used to be that I would fret over telling a girlfriend but now, it’s the doc.

Stay tuned.

About Sean

Sean is transabled. His body image is that of an L2 paraplegic. He has been living pretty much 100% of his public life from a wheelchair for the last decade, but hasn't found peace of mind (and is unlikely to until he does become a para).
