Going around in circles?

I’ve been feeling that I was going around in circles on the topic of transability. That is, I’ve been thinking about the same things, revisiting the same issues, coming to the same conclusions, and starting again. Then, I had a dream last night that would leave me going around in circles, quite literally, were it to become true…

I dreamed that I had a problem with my left arm. Really sore lump on the forearm, that after a while turned out to be cancerous. No choice but to amputate the arm. Not something I have ever “wished” for as any part of my transabled feelings, I must admit.

But of course, having lost an arm, I was left with no real choice in how to push my wheelchair! Hence, I saw myself in the driveway, pushing the chair ’round and ’round in circles, going nowhere. Ha!

The dreams I have, I tell ya!

About Sean

Sean is transabled. His body image is that of an L2 paraplegic. He has been living pretty much 100% of his public life from a wheelchair for the last decade, but hasn't found peace of mind (and is unlikely to until he does become a para).
