@Sean: Sorry for the confusion over the first Dr. First study and the second Dr. First study. I’m also waiting for the results of the second First study since I participated and the first First study was conducted before I knew there were others like myself. If the doctor’s name was Third of Fourth (dependent on how many studies he intends to do) I would be able to keep track of it better…

I guess he is very busy. As far as I know he is analysing the data of the “non-amputation BIID” study and planning to do another study about “successful wannabes”.

@Roger, I don’t know where things are at. Last I heard, several months ago, they had completed the study and were at analysing stage. Since then, haven’t heard back a thing from him.

@Mark, nobody has “posting rights” to post files here. This site isn’t about that. You can, however, find a lot of the research available on biid-info.org, another site I run. In any case, I think Roger has already seen First’s 1st study, and is wanting to know about the second one :)

@Roger: I found it on the “fighting it” Yahoo club, it’s a downloadable .pdf file. I don’t have posting rights to transabled, so if you join the Yahoo group and go to the files section you will find it.

I also participated in the second Dr. First interviews and I emailed him inquiring of his progress and whether anything has been published yet, no reply yet.

What has happened to the Dr First BIID research? Several emails to him have gone unanswered.

Hi Roger, yes, their work is completely separated from Dr Michael First (I think you have Robert in mind because of Robert Smith, the surgeon who did elective amputations in Scotland).

Dr. First’s study is still ongoing. Slow because he’s very busy, and also because there’s not been as many participants as hoped, I think. I understand there are still people on his list to contact, and that he recently did an interview with one of the site’s regular reader.

Is their work completely separate from that by Dr Robert First? I am wondering how the latter is progressing as it was 1 year since I was interviewed by phone by Dr First.

Thank you for doing so much stuff that benefits us all, Sean. My two cents in agreement with you regarding medication: After more than two months of Prozac my depression is a lot better, but there has been zero impact on BIID.
