Amazing, a first response already

Yes, I was so surprised, I recieved a response to one of those emails I sent yesterday. It was a negative response, in that the doctor in question, based in the UK refused. But I appreciate him taking the time to respond.
His response:
I would not be able to help; my training is surgery to the genitalia, not the spinal cord. You would in any case need assessment by experienced psychiatrists. I fear that, at the moment, such surgery is "banned" in Britain. I recall about 5 years ago people choosing to undergo amputations, and that this work was outlawed.
My answer to his response:
Thank you for your response. I understand your position and remember well the "noises" about those amputations in Scotland. I was full of hope that a clinic might be open for us, hopes that were squashed quite completely after the "affair" became public.
As for assessment by psychiatrists, that isn’t possible. There are no assessments possible, as there is no official diagnostic, and no official course of treatment. I don’t mind meeting with a shrink, in fact have done so for years, but because my condition is neither accepted nor recognised by the medical profession, no one would prescribe such a surgery :(
In any case, I appreciate your response, even though I wish it had been positive.
