I went out of town recently, just to get away from my day-to-day life. I booked a room in a hotel in the middle of the city and during the drive there, had a conversation with myself.

In the comments section of "No Surgery On My Horizon", it was suggested that having some meaning in my life would help me get through. This strikes me as one of those trite sayings that are meant to sooth the "loser", a bit like the saying that "Winning isn’t everything" when someone arrives 2nd or 3rd in a race.
