I was thinking about the changes in me since surgical treatment of BIID. I feel normal now. If “normal” people enjoy life as much as I do now, I sure got cheated out of a lot of life.

Almost two years ago I included BIID in my laundry list of insanities. I mean, you have to be insane to actually want to be paralysed, right? I said then that BIID feels like a mental illness; but it’s not at all the way I view things now.

I recently caught a fascinating documentary on TV. It was called “How Mad Are You?” by Horizon, and originally aired in 2008 on the BBC. It doesn’t discuss BIID, but it certainly made for a fascinating experiment.
