I think I’ve always had a love/hate feeling about vision. On the one hand- being sighted in a world designed by and for sighted people is convenient. You can learn the way people want you to. You don’t have to walk into school and hope they have things you need to be able to learn. I’m not actually sure how you can do math while blind- I’m sure you can, but I’m a bit afraid of the braille for Calculus equations.

Someone recently announced on Fighting-It that they finally got a leg amputated. It had been a long time coming for him, and he’s immediately found relief.

I looked at myself in the mirror the other day. My eyes were dark, almost lifeless. I looked horribly sad. Not sad in the "puppy" kind of way, that’s cute. I saw pain and hurt and depression in those eyes. Why does it seem like other people don’t see it?
