Once, I am asked if I want BIID to be gone. I am asked if I could get rid of BIID, would I do it? It’s a complex question. There are more layers to it than first appears. I already wrote about it nearly two years ago. I’m going to discuss this topic again, with a slightly different take this time.

Chances are a lot of the people who will read this post have a profile on myspace, or have at least had some interaction on myspace. That just goes to show what a popular medium it is. It’s the only reason why I bother to have a myspace profile. I originally saw it as a chance to further spread the word about BIID and my website, this was back in the day when I was starting to realise what a valuable tool the internet was. I’m starting to think myspace does more harm than good.

We were watching Extreme Makeover - the Home Edition. This one was about an LAPD cop who got shot while chasing a crook and ended up paraplegic when the crook shot her. They build her and her family a very nice home, as they usualy do. Part of the show involved one of the designers going to a local rehab facility and talking to a bunch of folks with spinal cord injuries. Many of them standing when they shouldn’t have been able to, or even walking. My partner said to me "I know what will happen to you. You’ll finally get your wish and the doctors will be able to fix you up and send you home in a week, walking".

I’m not sure if I mentioned this before but my Mum recently had surgery to fix some problems with her nose and it has meant Dad has had to do the weekly grocery shopping by himself. I went with him this week so he wouldn’t be on his own and I risked broaching the subject of BIID.
