Ah ha! Another answer. Another negative answer that is. But at least, it’s not being trashed and dismissed, they are offering considered answers, which is good. This particular doctor raises some good points that I’m sure anyone who’s been around this transabled "community" of ours has heard or seen before. But let’s see what he says.

So, I got my second response today. Negative as well, no great surprise. The surprise, however, comes from the reason for refusal. "Not my specialty", which was similar to the first response I received.

Amazing, a first response already

Yes, I was so surprised, I recieved a response to one of those emails I sent yesterday. It was a negative response, in that the doctor in question, based in the UK refused. But I appreciate him taking the time to respond.

Letter to SRS surgeons

I wrote the following letter and sent it to several surgeons who specialise in SRS. I’m not holding my breath. I don’t actually expect to receive any positive responses, if any response at all. I have sent a dozen letters via regular mail, and about three times as many by email. Experience with surveys and such say that a 5% to 7% return is good. So maybe I’ll get 2 or 3 responses, who knows? But if one doesn’t at least try, the answer is bound to be negative.
