No I don’t as long as it is for the right reasons. I am not a hero or a super crip I am simply a guy getting on with life. Heroism requires choice. I have no choice. Physical admiration? If I am content and comfortable with my own body I shouldn’t criticize others if they admire
it.

No. I cannot feel touch, hot or cold or pain below level of the injury except in my own case where having an incomplete lesion means I have small patches of disrupted sensation on the fronts of my thighs.

Pain is one of the least appreciated effects of SCI. I am in pain constantly I have pain related directly to the site of the injury and referred or phantom pain which feels as if its in my legs but is really nerve root pain. Some days it feels as if hot sand is being poured down my legs.

I can’t honestly say that I have ever met a woman who I knew found me more attractive because of my paraplegia. Having said that I have noticed that women are, on the whole more comfortable with my paraplegia than men.
