Mum and I watched a 20/20 documentary tonight about UK’s Slimmer of the Year winners and where they are after losing all their weight. It went over things like developing bad habits to get to their goal weight faster, self esteem issues, problems that have arisen with their family and partner since losing all their weight.

Test driving hearing aids recently turned out to be quite interesting. Among other things, it was an opportunity for a simultaneous comparison of using assistive devices for a physical issue versus using assistive devices for a neuropsychological issue (BIID).

I was reflecting about one of the comments I hear every so often – that if I was paralysed, I would be unable to work, and that helping me become paralyse would be a burden on society because I would be depending on public services. And then I thought of the last two weeks where I have been utterly unproductive, both at home and at work.

This time my coming out was a bit dangerous. I believed that the person would understand and not reject me. But if she did reject me, it could have a vast consequence. My work in disability community could suddenly end.
