Yeah. The note on my door lasted 6 days. As I write this it’s been only two weeks I’ve been using a wheelchair, and I’ve since lost count of how many times I’ve been outside my home.

Yesterday, I had my best wheelchair event thus far. It was one of those all too rare transcendent experiences showing that there is more to life than the mundane.

I was recently given opportunity to meet up with Dr. Ryan and one of his colleagues, Dr. Tarra Shaw. We met to discuss Body Integrity Identity Disorder. Dr. Ryan recently published a most interesting article, in which one of the point he makes is that elective amputation surgery might be appropriate in some cases of BIID.

It occurred to me that there were other medical interventions which were accepted practice among the medical profession the end result of which might be to disable someone who requested that procedure.
