Happy whatever…

Well folks, it’s that time of year. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanuka, Kwanza, the Solstice, or nothing at all, it is a wild time of year. Myself, I’ll be away for a couple weeks, so, we’re unlikely to have update for a while. Enjoy the break, may your wishes come true. See y’all next year!

Elusive Acceptance

I’ve been feeling a bit sorry for myself. Not constantly, but from time to time I get frustrated, feeling trapped, like there’s no way out. And then I feel sorry for myself, until something happens to jog me out of it. I wonder what it will take to jog me out of it, permanently.

Get used to it

I went shopping with my partner tonight. She wanted to get some clothes before a vacation we’re about to take. I put my wheelchair into her car and got ready to go.  It took her some time to get ready, but finally after a while, off we went to the mega discount Wal-Mart-type store.

The dive of my life

I watched a short documentary last night, called The Dive of my Life, by Frank Gardner. Frank is a journalist who was caught in a terrorist attack in 2004, and as a result became paraplegic. The documentary discussed his return to scuba diving in Egypt. It aroused an incredible sense of longing for me. It was incredibly "sweet & sour", talking about two things that are really dear to me: being paraplegic and scuba diving.
