Talking to mum

My mother is coming to visit next month. She’ll be here nearly three weeks. This will be the first time in 20 years that she’s coming to see me on my territory, where I usualy go see her in her territory. That has given me the freedom to pack and go if I needed to: you see, things haven’t generally been all that swell between mum and I. But she wants me to be more open and talk to her.

I’m Too Tired to Cope

I’ve not had time to think about my transabledness… I guess you could call it the "ignoring it" tactic, but this time it’s unintentional. All its doing is proving that I can’t simply ignore it. What with my two websites and my two jobs I barely have time to think about any "in depth" stuff…I’m generally more than happy just to blob in my wheelchair in front of a movie or something.

How can some wannabes be so ignorant?

There’s been a recent flurry of activity on a Yahoo! Group I’m subscribed to. In particular, there was a man who says he has had BIID since he was 12 or so, and he’s now in his mid 40’s. This man started off rather aggressively and blasted a para that rectified a few misconceptions. I’m continually surprised when I hear self-professed wannabes have apparently so little understanding of the impairment they say they desire.

A Chairless Weekend
