Someone pointed me to an interesting and recent blog entry. The blogger obviously discusses devotees, but has opted not to use that term, or any of the other somewhat accepted terms. It’s interesting how some people come across our "thing" quite unexpectedly, and even more interesting to see their reaction.

Worries for another friend

Well, Sophie has now gone “missing” for several days. I know where she’s at, but I’m concerned, as she doesn’t usualy stay away without answering mails for a while. She was at her parent’s for a weekend. Looks like the weekend changed into a full week. They had words about her wheelchair use, following the viewing of a documentary about Lily.

Someone I know was to undergo amputation surgery this week. I’ve not heard a thing, but that’s entirely natural, her loved ones surely have better things to do than to get online and tell all and sundry about how she’s doing. Doesn’t mean I’m not worried, anxious, excited, envious.

Nothing to say

There haven’t been much in the way of updates to the site recently. I’ve been busy with a couple other projects (and will still be busy for the next few weeks as well). But I just didn’t think I really had anything to say. But as I was driving, thinking that I should at least post to say I had nothing to say, I thought of a couple things. One was about advice, and has already been posted. The other, well, I’m about to write it.

It’s easy giving advice

Sophie has been having a hard time, particularly with her parents. The usual, you know? They can’t accept her use of the wheelchair. They won’t, whatever! And I found myself giving her advice about how to handle the situation. And I wasn’t the only one giving advice, some people went as far as telling her what to do, not what she could do, but what she should do.
