I just came back from the movies. I had a little bit over two hours of bliss, not thinking about the transabled thing, or anything else. It’s been a long time since I got so engrossed a movie. Coming back to the surface, however, was a bit of a shock.

I sometimes receive mail from regular visitors to my site, and those mails trigger some thoughts, or allow me to present my ideas in a way I hadn’t thought of before. When that happens, I often "scavenge" the mail and use it here. The indented bits are from my correspondent, the rest, my own stuff.

I get asked on and off if I “cheat” when I wheel. Recently a friend asked me about it. My stock answer is that it’s pretty hard not to cheat. The body doesn’t let you keep it that still for that long on such prolonged periods.

Here’s a question to ponder: If I do become paralysed, what am I going to do with my current "toys"? It’s not like I’m likely to be wanting to continue to use my braces, even if I’m able to. So, what shall I do with them?

So as I’m thinking more and more about getting the paralysis I want/need, they are talking about the bird flu coming into our area. I suspect it won’t be as bad as some predict, but if there really is a pandemic of a killer flu, ending up in rehab at the same time may not be the brightest idea!
